In June this year 10 students from Adelaide Botanic High School took part in one of the Operation Flinders Exercises.
The Rotary Club of Adelaide Parks provided support towards the cost of this program and were pleased to be invited to the presentation ceremony.
This gave members from the club an opportunity to hear about the challenges the students faced and their successes.
The leaders spoke about how well the students had engaged with the program, despite an early finish due to the forecast severe weather approaching the station.
It was encouraging to hear directly from the students too, about the highs and not so highs of the exercise. Abseiling was the high, packing up the campsite on an icy (-3C) morning was one of the challenges.
